Tustawi a leading ed tech company based in USA we helped design and developed there new talented based website that helps bridge talents from Africa to US and Europe market

Client: Tustawi
Industry: EdTech / Freelance Talent Marketplace
Mission: To connect global businesses with East Africa’s elite talent in content creation, web development, and AI.
The Goal: Develop a scalable, high-performance digital platform that serves as a bridge between international demand and regional expertise, replacing traditional, fragmented hiring processes with a managed, quality-assured marketplace.
Tustawi began as an MBA project at the University of Chicago and evolved into a major player in the Kenyan EdTech space. The challenge was twofold:
Scalability: Building a platform capable of handling thousands of learners and later, thousands of freelancers and clients.
Accessibility: Ensuring the platform was "mobile-first" to cater to the infrastructure of East Africa, where mobile data and smartphones are the primary tools for professional work.
Trust & Quality: Creating a "vetted" ecosystem where clients could trust the quality of work without the friction of lengthy onboarding.
To meet these challenges, the development team adopted a modern, agile framework focused on rapid execution and user-centric design.
The team conducted extensive research into the local tech ecosystem, identifying that businesses needed more than just a job board—they needed a managed service. This led to the "Four Step" workflow: Requirements Discussion → Talent Matching → Project Execution → Ongoing Support.
The website was built using a stack designed for speed, SEO, and responsiveness:
Frontend: A modern, responsive interface using frameworks like React or Next.js to ensure fast loading times across devices.
Backend: A robust API-driven architecture to manage the "Talent Matching" algorithm and project tracking.
Mobile Integration: Development of a high-performance mobile app (iOS/Android) to allow learners and freelancers to engage on the go.
The design focuses on a clean, professional aesthetic that highlights the "Strategic Gateway" role of East Africa. Key features include:
Localized Content Hubs: Dedicated sections for operations in Kenya, creative production in Tanzania, and tech innovation in Rwanda.
Interactive Onboarding: A 30-minute requirement discussion intake system to minimize friction for new clients.
Talent Matching Engine: A proprietary system to vet and pair freelancers with projects within 24–48 hours.
Integrated Project Management: A dashboard where Tustawi handles quality control and milestone tracking, removing the burden from the client.
AI Localization Tools: Specialized features for AI prompting, automation, and video localization—positioning Tustawi at the forefront of the AI revolution.
Global Recognition: Winner of the Global New Venture Challenge at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Economic Empowerment: Successfully connected hundreds of East African professionals with global opportunities, contributing to the region's digital economy.
Proven Efficiency: Projects now move from discovery to execution in under 48 hours, a significant improvement over traditional hiring cycles.
The development of Tustawi proves that a successful website is not just about code; it’s about ecosystem building. By focusing on "Quality Guaranteed" and "Managed Delivery," the platform successfully transitioned from a simple website to a vital sourcing partner for global organizations.
